El Tejon Middle School  is surrounded by beautiful Tejon Ranch and is a stones throw away from Old Fort Tejon in Lebec, California. Established in the early 1900s, El Tejon Middle School is considered by many locals to be a historic landmark. Currently, this scenic campus houses close to 225 middle school students grades 5-8.

At El Tejon Middle teachers work diligently and creatively to determine the essential and supplemental standards students need to master before going on to the next grade. Additionally, teachers meet weekly to collaborate on effective teaching strategies, analyzing test data, and creating Common Formative Assessments (CFAs) by engaging in Professional Learning Communities.

El Tejon is like a second home for me because I’ve been attending here since the age of five.  My family moved to into the infamous Rock House in Frazier when I was just three weeks old and I attended kindergarten through 8th grade in the El Tejon district.  In fact Frazier Park School was a brand new school when I attended there in 1st grade.  Frazier Mountain High was not around in those days though, so I went to Bakersfield High School.  For college I attended both Bakersfield College and Cal State Bakersfield.  I hold both a Business & Marketing Degree as well as my teaching credentials.  In my off time I like to read, do arts/crafts, go camping, and drive around in my fancy new sports car.  I became a teacher to work with young people and help give back to the community in which I was raised. I love working with the middle school students because they still have childhood passions but can work independently and rationalize their work as they develop their analytical and critical thinking skills. My goal as a middle school teacher is to provide students the academic tools and study skills/habits they will need to be successful in high school.
